Continue readingUEV now included in Windows 10 1607 (and above)
User Experience Virtualization (UEV) use to be part of the MDOP packs.... however MDOP's last update was in 2015.... leaving some of us wondering what was happening to awesome tools contained within. Given Microsoft's recent desire to destroy anything and everything that isn't cloud - irrelevant of its ability to fill gaps that cloud services…
Continue readingMigration of public folders to exchange 2013/2016
I've done a few of these.... but most corporates (at least that I've dealt with) use public folders quite lightly - if at all.... so the migrations have been quite simple. Recently, I was tasked with moving a smaller business (through a partner) from 2007 to 2013 then 2016. The mailbox move from 2007 to…
Continue readingWindows or Office deployment: it's Microsoft's shout
Adexis is known in Adelaide as the number one experts in SCCM and windows deployment. Did you know you can engage an Adexis expert and have Microsoft pick up the tab? Many customers aren't aware that they're entitled to a little golden nugget called Desktop Deployment Planning Services . DDPS is a benefit provided by…
Continue readingADFS, WAP and updating their public certificates
Renewing public certificates within an environment is always a bit of a pain - especially when you use the same certificate on a range of different systems and have to update each manually! When you've got a number of web-based systems that you publish externally, using a reverse proxy such as a Microsoft Web Application…

Continue readingMicrosoft Exchange Federation Certificates – Keep an eye on the expiry!
I recently had a client experience an issue with their hybrid exchange setup (365/On Premise) - users were suddenly unable to retrieve free/busy and calendar information between the two environments. As it turns out, the certificate used to secure communications to the Microsoft Federation Gateway (MFG) had expired. Federation certificates within exchange are generally created…
Continue readingDecommissioning Skype for Business 2015 on premise after migrating to O365
Depending on how you utilise Skype for Business, you may have no requirement to maintain a hybrid environment once all users are within Skype for Business online. Documentation around decommissioning the on premise environment was surprisingly sparse. One of the better documents around web was here - but it still stopped a little short, in…
Continue readingOutlook HTML.... holy shit that's bad.
Recently, I made up a HTML template to use with some summaries we send out to clients - I thought it would look a bit more professional than our existing text with an attached PDF. I got the HTML looking nice, plugged it into the VS project, and generated some emails... <eyes pop from sockets>…
